Action Learning Meetings
Subsequent meetings involve each member saying what they have done in their development area since the previous meeting. The group help, through skilful enquiry, to explore:
- What went well?
- What could have been improved?
- How they could improve this?
- Who else in the group could help, at or in between meetings?
It can take a few meetings for the group to become used to, and skilful in this approach. It can also take some time for members to become used to discussing processes, not just content of the project. Therefore, it can be helpful if the initial learning set meetings are facilitated. However, another element in our approach is to help the group become self - managing, to develop the group to the point where the group no longer require the services of a facilitator.
