What is Action Learning?
Our approach to Action Learning is based around the work of Reg Revans. We work on the premise that the group of individuals involved in the Action Learning Group (ALG) meets at agreed intervals, with the purpose of learning from each other. It is accepted that the group members have skills and knowledge, from which other members could benefit. In other words, the group help each other. The group decides the duration and frequency of meetings.
We have found that agreeing a contract is a critical element in the success of this approach. ALG members are asked to consider how committed they are to their own development, what are they prepared to put into it, and what they want out of the process. This ensures that the key areas of development for each member are clear to everyone.
